Is it dust or is it face? Someone emailed me about a face he/she saw in my photos. The two photos (#1 & #2 below) were both taken from the 2nd floor in the Hakodate City Museum of Photographic History. Since both photo were taken from the same place, and the face appeared in the same shape on both photos, so they must be painted on the wall (for some unknown reason).

Later, when I sorted through my photos, I found photo #3. Photo #3 has a face on the floor this time. And since it wasn't taken too far from #1 and #2 so I guessed they could be some special local custom to paint these kind of faces on the walls and floors (for protection from evil?).

I just found it funny to see these faces.

Those photos were taken from the Hakodate Gallery, all the 3 photos were taken between 5:00pm and 7:00pm on 2006/10/31. There were all geocoded (my GPS ran out of memory so some photos were manually geocoded).

1) Hakodate city museum of photographic history (\..\45 hokkaido\1031 hakodate\061031175527 hakodate city museum of photographic history)

This picture shows the antique cameras on the second floor. There is also a stereoscope with photos taken at the beginning of the century.

Exhibition on the first floor is free, the second floor cost 200Y for entry.

*** ghost face photo 1 *** As you can see, there is a face on the wall behind the three cameras. I am not sure what it means. It looks like some kind of stain. Or perhaps it was a local custom to paint face on the wall (for protection against the evil)?

2) Cameras in photographic museum (\..\45 hokkaido\1031 hakodate\061031180227 view--cameras in photographic museum)

*** ghost face photo 2 *** I took another picture in the same location. The face was still here, so I think it has nothing to do with anything super natural. I didn't notice the face when I took the picture, so I think it's probably not very visible for the naked eyes.

3) Old hakodate public hall (\..\45 hokkaido\1031 hakodate\061031182631 view--old hakodate public hall)

*** ghost face photo 3 *** Now this picture is interesting. I found this "face" myself. It's on the floor beneath the first light. Maybe it is just my imagination, other people may not consider this as a face. It has a white color on it, so it may be just a reflection. Anyway, I just think it's kind of interesting.
This picture was taken in another building, a couple minutes away from the "Hakodate photographic museum". I was the only one on the second floor of the building at that time. There were two staffs at the entrance of the building downstairs.

I had visited the cemetery earlier at the morning, and I found a doll in the cemetery. I am not sure if it's related to that incident.
If you find any "faces" on my photos, can you let me know? My email address is at the bottom of this page (use contact webmaster).

I haven't heard any words from anyone yet? Any idea?

hmmmm.... that's an interesting question. I'm not sure if the hair was human or not. How can I tell? Anyway, I donated it to a template later on, so I guess I won't find out forever. But nothing bad happened to me, so I guess it's harmless, right? (other than ruining a few photos...)

stick your photos on youtube and see what you get from veiwers ,the face in your photos look like an overex or have u faked them??

What is an overex? I don't know how to post on Youtube yet, but I may look into that later. I have to admit my lens is not very clean, and there could be some dust on the CCD (my camera doesn't have self cleaning feature). So I guess it could be just some dust particles.

I still have like 2000 photos from the same trip I don't have a chance to post yet. If I don't find anything else, it's probably nothing special.

    Hi
I have seen faces for years and wondered why I seen them. I could tell if woman or man or child or infant or a different race. No voices, just a look in the eyes of helpd me or a pleading. I am not sure what to do but pray for them and that their souls will be at rest. I see the faces in many different places, at church, in the windsheild as I drive, in the bathroom, in just about any space you can think of and when I am struggling with kids or work, stressed I see nothing for awhile until things settle down. Sometimes but rare the face I see shows up in the news paper in the obits. I assume that for some reason I know before the time of death and that is part of the reason I figured I needed to pray for them after I had experienced it a few times. It is an on and off thing but I no longer thing I am a bit off or am scared by it. I just pray for the person or soul so that they will have a peaceful death and their soul will find rest.
I am in my 50's and this year is the first time I told anyone of my experience. It seems weird at first but I feel I have a purpose and maybe a gift with the faces I see.
I take no pictures because I am not sure anything would show and people would just say it it my imagination. I don't think so.
Blessing to you on your experience.

I think it might have something to do with pareidolia. You can check an interesting article by Forgetomori (http://forgetomori.com/2008/skepticism/best-pareidolia-ever/). It's probably some scratch on the floor that got mistaken as face.
